Master class presentation at the SMI European Pharmaceutical Pricing and Reimbursement conference
On Wednesday 15th October, Eimear Nic Lochlainn and Jennifer Cook from the Adelphi Values Value Insight & Communication practice presented a master class in association with SMI at the European Pharmaceutical Pricing and Reimbursement conference in London.
Targeted at pharmaceutical executives and senior market access professionals, the master class provided an understanding of the EU healthcare systems, P&R processes, increased understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the EU market access environment, identified how to define value for different stakeholders at national, regional and local level, and customize value propositions to optimize P&R success.
The agenda included:
- An EU perspective of market access, with insights into upcoming changes/developments highlighting differences and similarities between countries and regional differences where applicable
- Identification of key stakeholders and decision makers, how they assess value and what their needs and decision drivers are.
- Review of the general clinical and economic evidence requirements and consideration for clinical development programmes to meet regulatory/HTA hurdles
The event was very well received by the attendees. “We wanted to provide a practical approach to market access and by integrating relevant case studies we were able to provide real insight and understanding for our delegates regarding stakeholders/payers and their needs at the regional and local level” said Eimear “The case study highlighted the varying perspective of payers and how different payer archetypes assessed the same clinical evidence but can reach different conclusions with respect to the value of that evidence to the payer.”
Jennifer Cook co-presented the master class, and was able to provide an industry perspective based on her experience gained from senior Global Pricing and Market Access roles.
