Statistician, Patient-Centered Outcomes, UK
What we are looking for
We are looking for a highly motivated Statistician with a passion for applying their statistical knowledge to support development of patient-reported outcome measures and analysis of data reported by patients in clinical trials. Patient-reported outcome (PRO) measures are questionnaires designed to directly measure the patients’ perspective of their wellbeing to be taken into account alongside clinical outcomes in a study. PRO instruments can focus on assessing symptoms, physical function, mental health, social function, or wellbeing more generally. PROs frequently form primary endpoints and are thus crucial for the regulatory approval and commercial success of many drugs. You will have a Masters in Medical Statistics, Applied Statistics or a related field. Some knowledge or experience of analyzing and reporting clinical trial data using SAS would be desirable. In addition to this, it would be of interest if you were familiar with advanced statistical methods including longitudinal data analysis, mixed modelling, growth curve models, multiple imputation, survival analysis, factor analysis and conjoint analysis. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and ambitious individual who would relish in working in a fast-paced but fun environment.
How you fit in
With your background in statistics you will join a vibrant team of statisticians and SAS programmers who partner with a broader team of qualitative researchers/PRO measurement specialists. The ideal candidate will have a passion for applying your statistical skills to assessing outcomes reported by patients. In an exciting and varied role you will also be involved in study design, writing protocols, writing Statistical Analysis Plans and working with the SAS programmers to prepare associated table shells. You will also be involved in preparing and/or reviewing statistical analyses and providing input to the interpretation of results. You will provide input on the statistical elements of study reports, publications, and other deliverables and also serve as a statistical consultant internally for the wider Adelphi Values research team. You will be involved in providing internal training on relevant statistical methodology and also production of statistical analysis, tables, figures and listings in SAS. You will also be encouraged to present work externally at conferences, and develop your statistical knowledge through ongoing training and academic collaboration.
